High performance and humanity are often positioned as opposites. Leaders and coaches are told they must choose: be demanding or be empathic. Yet, empathic leaders perform 40% better in coaching (DDI Global Leadership). Across industries, lack of empathy costs US employers $180 billion pa due to toxicity, attrition, and lack of engagement (Businessolver).

You work in environments where performance is measured and visible. You're managing athlete development, team dynamics, performance pressure, and your own leadership development. You recognise that technical expertise alone isn't enough — the psychological and relational dimensions matter.

You're responsible for high-performing teams and feel the tension between driving results and caring for people. You want to lead with depth and humanity without sacrificing performance. You're navigating organisational transitions, cultural challenges, or the weight of sustained pressure.

I provide 1:1 support and development for your leaders, and/or run tailored workshops for leaders and teams across industries. I can focus on parts or all of my model of the 7 aspects of empathic leadership, pictured above.
These are ways in which the whole culture of your organisation can be improved.

Ongoing work for leaders navigating complex organisational challenges, cultural transformation, or personal leadership development. We work together over 3-6 months through regular sessions, focusing on the psychological and relational dimensions of leadership.

This isn't generic leadership training. It's psychologically informed work grounded in research with leaders who operate in the most demanding environments — where empathy isn't a luxury, it's a performance advantage.
The insights come from years of research, published work, and real engagement with elite sport environments. They're applicable across sectors, but they're tested where performance matters most.
I don't offer quick fixes or simplified frameworks. This work is for leaders and coaches who value depth, who recognise that sustainable high performance requires understanding people — including themselves — at a psychological level.

Empathic Leadership: Lessons from Elite Sport explores how empathy operates in high-pressure environments. Drawing on in-depth research with international coaches and professional sport leaders, the book reveals how the most effective leaders create conditions for sustained excellence while honouring the humanity of their people.
